Update on Toby's colleague
The news has been excellent - Toby's colleague is off the ventilator, talking to friends and doing great! He doesn't appear to have lost any brain function thanks to Toby. The doctors are going to implant an internal defibrillator in his chest today to prevent another cardiac arrest. I just can't believe that he went from pretty much dead to strong enough for surgery in the course of four days. Apparently Toby is not only capable of doing CPR, but it turns out he does it very well!

Toby is a hero!
Keep Toby in your thoughts today as he navigates through a lot of emotions. He performed CPR on a colleague this morning and managed to resuscitate the man, who had collapsed with no pulse and was not breathing. We don't know the man's condition, though he had a pulse and was breathing by the time the ambulance left with him. We understand that he is on the heart/lung transplant list and is very ill, so we really can't guess at his prognosis. Regardless, Toby did an absolutely amazing thing today and I could not be prouder of my wonderful husband. He is a true hero!

You people lie - photographic evidence
Dear friends,
While I appreciate the love and support, you have all been lying to me. I am not just carrying this baby "in a cute bump" but rather spread out over my entire body. Maternity photos at 34 weeks seemed like a good idea a few weeks ago. I'm just really glad we didn't wait any longer. For more, see http://www.christinacolephotography.com/blog/

First photo from maternity session
After the first five minutes of our session, Annie completely melted down. The only time she regained her composure was when we let her hold Toby's phone and show our photographer another photo of our family. So this may be the one and only photo of us with Annie...but she sure is cute! This is the only photo we've received so far - our photographer is on vacation - but we'll post some more when we get them.

Expert Witness Toby
Keep Toby in mind this week as he prepares to be an expert witness in a murder trial. We think he will testify on Thursday. He is well prepared and excited!

A couple of photos from Annie's birthday
We took approximately 200 pictures at Annie's 2 birthday parties (one just for parents/grandparents and one for friends at the park), but I thought I would only subject you to a few. Because I seem to have no time to do anything lately, I can't seem to go through the 200 to find the best shots, so I decide on a few cake photos. Here we are patiently waiting for birthday cake...or maybe starting to whimper - hard to say.
Annie requested chocolate, and I love chocolate, so it was a win-win! I made cupcakes for her actual-day-of-at-home birthday party. They were yummy!
Oops - this one is not cake-related. But it does show that I dressed her in a super-cute hippy-chick outfit for the park party. Not long after this picture it got to be 80 degrees, so off came the long sleeve top, the skirt got rolled up and the child became a sticky sweaty mess. But at least I have this one photo of the cuteness.
And here we are blowing out the candle that the wind had already blown out. Annie didn't seem to care at all. Yes, I decorated the cake with M&Ms - her favorite food in the whole world. Now when I tell her about other kids' birthday parties, she always asks if there will be M&Ms. :)

We're still here!
I am so sorry that I haven't updated the blog in over a month! I've been trying to find time to get photos onto the computer, and will do that soon. You may not believe that I haven't had time, but since my last post we:
Hosted birthday parties for Annie at: school with her classmates, home with Grandma and Grandpa, and the park with her friends;
Flew to cousin Amanda's wedding in South Carolina (okay that one was just me);
Attended Annie's first Easter egg hunt (chaos!);
Took an ill-fated family trip the beach;
Stayed with Grandma and Granpda while our floors were refinished;
Completely freaked out over a near-diagnosis of gestational diabetes (again, just me, and don't worry - I'm fine);
Went cold turkey on bottles, thanks to intervention from the Easter bunny (yes, we were an entire year late in doing this);
Enjoyed a night off from kid-duty and celebrated by seeing a movie, eating a meal that took longer than 30 minutes, and staying up until midnight (thank you, Grandma and Grandpa!);
Attended the school spring festival where we rescued a shrieking Annie from the stage;
Had our upstairs painted (thank you again, Grandma and Grandpa for letting us stay with you at the last minute); and
Managed to hold down our jobs.
Now I know why I'm so tired today. But seriously, I'm going to try really hard to upload photos, return calls and send emails this weekend. Really. :)
