Over the weekend, Toby and I visited Carnton (the place where we got hitched). We went to watch a cavalry demonstration, which was undewhelming. All was not lost, however - I got to kiss my husband under the tree where we said our marriage vows!
Here are some photos of the new things at Carnton this spring:
The visitors center is finally under contstruction. We were originally hoping that it was going to be ready in time for our wedding....looks to be about 14 months late! When the facility opens it is going to be great - future brides won't have to worry about renting decent (or in our case, fabulous) restrooms or about the lack of sturdy shelter during a thunderstorm.

The garden is very spring-y with lots of daffodils and a fresh coat of paint on the fences. Another new installation this year is the arbors you see below. It looks like they are training shrubs or trees - pear trees, maybe, to grow around the arbors. I'm sure it will be beautiful when it matures a bit.

Closer shot of the arbors/trees.

Can you believe that it is only two months until our first anniversary?! We have had such a fabulous first year of marriage. We are very blessed, indeed.
